Onthebeach.co.uk – A friend of mine has recently had dealings with this company and while learning more about them I came across this website which clearly shows that he is not alone in being more than disappointed with the extremely unethical marketing practices used by On the Beach.
From the comments I have been reading, it appears that the main cause for complaint stems from what is called a “Bait and Switch”. By this I mean that you are lured in with a cheap offer, pay the money and are then contacted by the company who advise that the price you have been charged is incorrect and you need to pay more money or lose your booking. Sometimes these hidden charges could run into hundreds of pounds.
A quick look on Review Center shows the extent of the problem. Here are just a few recent complaints.
“Don’t even think about booking your holiday with Onthebeach.co.uk.
They lure you in with cheap deals and then surcharge you to the point where it was cheaper to book direct. Their holidays are not protected as packages and any changes attract huge surcharges. Read the full review..
“Appalling customer service from On the beach holidays.
Misleading website causing mis-sold holidays with little or no help from customer service apart from attempting to levy a ‘admin’ fee for any cancellations.” Read the full review..
Clearly everybody has different experiences with every company, and I have no doubt that there are 2 sides to every story but from what I have heard and read, the complaints with this company seem to outweigh the positive comments so be careful and always check the terms and conditions of any website before making a booking.
