When and where did you start diving?
1998 in Minnesota
Why did you start diving?
Some friends were divers and I wanted to try it.
What made you choose to become a dive professional?
To bring others into the sport so they could enjoy it as much as I do.
Which is your favourite dive site and why?
The shipwrecks around Presque Isle, MI. They are very well preserved.
What has been the most memorable dive of your life and why?
Diving the Carl D. Bradley in Lake Michigan. It’s a deep technical dive (350’) that required lots of planning and practice.
If you would come back as a marine life form in your next life, what would that be?
A shark
Who is your dream dive buddy?
My current dive buddy, we dive well together.
What dive locations are on your dream “bucket list” and why?
Scapa Flow and the north coast of Ireland. To dive the wrecks from WW1 & WW2.
What is on your bedside table right now?
The survivor of the Carl D. Bradley sinking, Franks Mays book.
What is your favourite piece of diving equipment and why?
My Sherwood Maximus regs. I’ve dove them since 1998 and they are trouble free.
If you were to launch a campaign to raise awareness on a specific issue that affects divers, the oceans or marine life, what issue would you target and why?
The protection of our shipwrecks. If all the artifacts are removed from the shipwrecks, future divers will be unable to enjoy them.
Where will you be in 10 years and what will you be doing?
I will be in Florida in the winter and Presque Isle, MI. running dive charters in the summer.
