Thanks to the kindness of a lucky competition winner, Louise Coy, blue o two are pleased to announce that an online auction for a luxury diving trip to the Red Sea onboard M/Y blue Horizon has raised £910 for the UK shark and marine conservation charity Bite-Back.
The winning bid of £910 was placed by Sean Chinn who has snapped himself up a blue o two scuba diving holiday on board the award-winning M/Y blue Horizon during its ‘Project Shark: Simply the Best’ week itinerary in the stunning Egyptian Rea Sea on the 13th-20th June 2014. Bidding started on the 24th March 2014 and the auction closed at 21:03 on Saturday 5th April 2014. Every penny from the winning bid of £910 will go to Bite-Back, the UK shark and marine conservation charity, and its ‘Hacked Off!’ campaign to make Britain’s restaurants shark fin free.
Taking in the world-famous marine parks at Brothers and Daedalus, this thrilling itinerary of spectacular drop offs is perfect for divers keen to glimpse some big animals at these remote off-shore reefs. The trip will provide the opportunity to learn more about the biology and behaviour of sharks in the Red Sea with nightly lectures from a representative of the “Red Sea Sharks” trust founded by our expert dive guide and marine biologist, Elke Bojanowski Ph.D, in her quest to track and collect basic population data on oceanic whitetip sharks (Carcharhinus Longimanus), in the Egyptian Red Sea.
blue o two would like to thank everyone who bid in the online auction and congratulate Sean Chinn on his winning bid. The money raised is going to a fantastic cause and so thanks goes to Louise Coy for generously donating one of her winning spaces which made this fundraising possible.
