Next week will be an unprecedented week for BSAC and British scuba diving.
TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Cambridge will attend a reception to mark the handover of the BSAC Presidency. And if that isn’t exciting enough, HRH The Duke of Cambridge will be taking the plunge himself to go snorkelling and diving with a few lucky BSAC members.
BSAC is hosting the reception to thank HRH The Prince of Wales for his 40-year tenure and welcome HRH The Duke of Cambridge as our new President. The event which will take place next week will also recognise the work being done to support and encourage participation in diving, with demonstrations from young people participating in BSAC training programmes.
HRH The Duke of Cambridge will join activity sessions taking place in the swimming pool, snorkelling with some of BSAC’s youngest members and buddying up with a young scuba diver to carry out essential safety checks, before descending on a short pool dive.
At the pool side, HRH The Prince of Wales will learn about the success of BSAC’s underwater litter pick campaign, its diamond jubilee anniversary celebrations and the Beachcomber and rock pooling sessions, designed to help young children learn about marine life.
