Our World-Underwater is proud to announce the addition of film festivals to our two new shows. Originally the Phoenix and the Lone Star State Dive & Travel Expos were planned to be just a dive & travel exhibition with some seminars. But after hearing from many of the attendees and exhibitors who have attended our Chicago show tell us that our film festival was one of the best parts of OW-U, we decided to add a new dimension to these new shows and offer 2-hour film festival at each venue.
The World of Water – Phoenix (December 6th & 7th at the Phoenix Convention Center) will offer a film festival Saturday night from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Hyatt, our hosting hotel. It should be a fun time afterwards in the hotel bar so we suggest you plan now to spend the night. The Emcee for the event will be underwater filmmaker Annie Crawley. Annie has presented many times at Our World-Underwater in Chicago to rave reviews and we are looking forward to her emceeing this event.
This coming January 24th & 25th, 2015, Frisco, Texas will be home to the World of Water – Lone Star State. The expo and the film festival, which will take place Saturday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM, will be held at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Convention Center & Spa.
Tickets for both film festivals are only $10.00 and for tickets for the EXPOs are only $15.00. Film presentations will be from such diving notables as cave explorer Jill Heinerth, award winning underwater filmmaker Paul Cater Deaton, 8-time winner of the Antibes Film Festivals Leandro Blanco and many others. With the support of our sponsors and our marketing plan, we are anticipating thousands of divers at each event. Be sure to participate in some of the many seminars taking place on our exhibtion floor as well as in-depth workshops offered by AUP and the Visual Cylinder Inspector classes offered by PSI. Many of the training agencies will be offering updates as well.
At 9 AM on Saturday at all our shows we will be offering our LOOK INTO DIVING Business Symposium. This presentation offers anyone looking to get into diving as a career or store, looking to grow their market share, some down to earth insight into the diving industry from local business people. Ever hear, the way to make a million dollars in diving is to start with two? This symposium will knock that myth down and demonstrate how successful retailers, who did not have a million to start, show you how you can enjoy diving as your career. If you are interested in a career in diving, you will want to join us as local store owners and other diving industry professionals share their experience and give tips how to make diving your career.
