Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF) is thrilled to announce that Ken Nedimyer, CRF’s Founder and President has been honored with a Disney Conservation Hero Award from the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF). The award recognizes local citizens for their tireless efforts to save wildlife, protect habitats and educate communities. Recipients were nominated by non-profit environmental organizations, and each honoree and their nominating organization will share a $1,500 award from DWCF.
Ken’s comments, “I’m very honored to be recognized by Disney for our work trying to save and restore coral reefs. I think Disney understands thinking big, so they don’t shy away from someone like me who has a seemingly outrageous dream. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither can a coral reef be restored in a day, but I believe we can do the impossible if we put our minds and hearts to it. Thank you to Disney for highlighting this important work and honoring me with this award.”
The Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund focuses on protecting wildlife and connecting kids and families with nature. Since 2004, Disney has honored more than 100 leaders around the world for their extraordinary conservation efforts.
