Tekdeep, leading provider of technical diving tuition worldwide are running a fantastic 5 STAR trip in May 2015 to the wreck of the SS Maidan in the Egyptian Red Sea.
The Maidan was a “Steel Screw” Steam Cargo Ship of 8,205 GRT built at W. Hamilton & Co. (Glen Yard No. 231), Glasgow, Scotland in 1912 for T & J Brocklebank, Liverpool, London.
She was discovered in 2003 between 80 and 120 meters on the south side of Rocky Island and is nearly complete. It is a relatively undisturbed wreck and has only been visited by very few divers since it’s location was found.
The boat chartered for this trip is one probably the highest standard Safari boat in the Red Sea.
Diving will be done in teams and for the deeper dives limit ourselves to one dive per day and maybe a shallow bimble or a snorkel if you start to dry out.
As numbers are limited because it is a technical trip, there is room for non-diving none tech diving open circuit partners. The Maidan is on a reef so there is something for the snorkeler.
