As promised, we have published some shots from our dive the other day on the Silver and Ocklawaha rivers. Video still to come. We started our day early, strolling down the Silver. The weather was perfect and the fauna was out and about. We proceeded to dive along the river looking for Bowfin, which we found, along with many other species.
The highlight of the day had to be when we stumbled upon a friendly Cormorant. swimming about, diving in and out, and searching for food, we watched patiently with our ROV. Our new friend decided to hang around with us for quite a while. We happened to be in a honey hole of fish after all and the Cormorant knew it. We also had an encounter with a large Banded Water Snake; perhaps the Cormorant was looking for the snake?
To finish the day, we ran into several tribes of Rhesus Macaques along the river bank. According to locals, they aren’t usually out in such numbers all at once. An interesting sighting for sure.
