With effect from 25th June 2015, Lodge Scuba which is based in Thornton Heath, London UK is no longer be able to teach PADI Courses after having their PADI Dive Centre status revoked.
PADI, the most widely-recognised scuba diving agency in the world, does not publish the reasons for an expulsion, but says the measure is a “last resort” taken only in the most serious cases.
Expelled professionals or diving schools can no longer conduct PADI courses or represent themselves as members. Lodge Scuba is only the second diving centre in England to be expelled by the organisation in the last 23 years, according to its online records.
All PADI content and course information has been removed from the Lodge Scuba website. The menu structure is still in place but the pages can no longer be located.
The company is still offering courses through NAUI, TDI, NACD, and BSAC and the PADI logo is still listed in the partner section.
Simon Lodge, in addition to founding Lodge Scuba also briefly owned Divers Warehouse in Bradford, West Yorkshire following the separation of Divers Warehouse from Otter Drysuits by the Womack Family. Divers Warehouse changed owners in May 2014 and operates as a successful stand-alone business.
