Guinness World Record attempt taking place in California to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
Cristi Quill from Team Amazing, is attempting to break the current Guinness World Record for Longest Open Saltwater SCUBA dive (Female). Which as you may not know has never been done by a female. We are super excited for her to do this. Currently Cristi has successfully completed 16 hours and 10 minutes under La Jolla Shores in a wetsuit with the aide of her Team and other volunteer beach support. She will be staying below 5 meters the entire 72 Hours she will be under water and will never surface until the end.
Cristi, is attempting such a feat to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Cristi lost her mom due to breast cancer a little over a year ago and she is on a mission to do something to combat cancer in the best way she knows how, by diving! Cancer has been apart of all of our lives at one point in time or another. Cristi along with Team Amazing want your support to raise funds and awareness for those we have lost, who are currently battling cancer, and those who have survived. We need all the support we can get so we are reaching out to the community to ask you to come out and support us.
For those who are interested in our donations for The American Cancer Society, we are providing three ways to donate; with the team on shore, underwater with Cristi and online: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/teamamazing.
We will be set up in Kellogg Park (Corner of Camino Del Oro & Vallecitos behind the playground) from noon Thursday, July 9th – Sunday July 12th. We will be wearing our red Team Amazing shirts and welcome you and your family to come out and help us by Putting Cancer Under Pressure. We encourage you to visit our Facebook page where we have our latest updates, photos, and information.
