Protecting the marine environment is important to us all as divers (as it should be to everyone), but this does not just involve collecting waste from the water, it also involves collecting waste rubbish before it enters the water. On April 17th and 18th, IDive Makadi Bay, together with the Modern English School (Cairo) and HEPCA (Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association) undertook a fantastic 2 day Beach Clean Up at Magawish Island in the Egyptian Red Sea.

The two day event allowed children from Cairo to learn more about the marine environment and assist the teams from IDive and HEPCA in ridding the beaches of Magawish of waste products. The children also had a great opportunity to snorkel in the clear waters of the Red Sea.
Congratulations to everyone involved. You have all made it a great day for the marine environment in Egypt.
