The Scuba News Canada will be featuring a weekly update from Matthew Lerpiniere on the diving conditions at Brockville, Ontario. Here is what is in store for August 12– August 14.
As has been the past several weeks, the Thousand Islands region is still dealing with heat advisories. High temperatures and humidity are making it feel like it is into the 40’s these days and this is supposed to continue on the weekend. There are thunderstorms predicted throughout the weekend. Although this is not great for diving, the locals really need the rain and hopefully a break in the heat.
If you are out there diving, despite the rain it should still be good diving. The water is warm and light wetsuits are enough to keep you comfortable while diving. Make sure you are well hydrated, bring water, or drink the water that is provided on the boats. In these temperatures de-hydration and heat stress are a concern. Keep safe while enjoying staying cool in the water.
Dive Safe.
