KLASH is a new water activewear company aimed at women who want to be active in the water wearing something more than a bikini. KLASH is the first brand completely devoted to active apparel that functions, fits, and feels like it should—with no surprises—especially in water.
Founded by Californians Diana Klochkova and Ashley Reta, KLASH is geared toward all women, from the serious female athlete to the casual beachgoer. Klochkova and Reta are seeking to bridge the gap between ill-fitting men’s products dyed pink or skimpy so-called fashion gear built for flawless teenage bodies. The result is apparel that performs as well in water as it does on land.
KLASH PRODUCTS
A response to beachwear malfunctions, S plash Leggings ($110) are high-performance, fast-drying, chlorine-resistant, UPF 50+ leggings for water and land. Splash Leggings stay in place, keep their form-fitting shape, and do not collect water and sand. Splash Leggings are available for pre-order now at $80 for a limited time at thisisklash.com/products/splash-leggings-1.
First conceived during Klochkova’s hair-related struggles while scuba diving and kayaking, the Bang Wrangler ($15) is a waterproof headband that stays put while keeping hair out of faces. The bands are 100% silicone and available in eight colors inspired by none other than the beach. Bang Wranglers are available for purchase at thisisklash.com/collections/bangwrangler.
For moments ashore, KLASH offers graphic tanks ($18), emblazoned with “Aquaholic,” “Salty Hair Don’t Care,” and “Beach Please.” The tanks are available for order at thisisklash.com/collections/the-bangin-tanks.
“While water sports have long been dominated by men, more women are getting into them, and those women have some very unique equipment needs,” says Klochkova. “Ashley and I have a special advantage in understanding those needs, creating solutions, and then sharing them with these women in a relatable way.”
As much as KLASH is a product line, it is a lifestyle brand with a mission to make it easier for women everywhere to enjoy whatever it is they love to do in the water.
About KLASH
As California water babies, Klash founders Diana Klochkova and Ashley Reta loved being under water but were so over its nuisances: tying and retying pony tails, clipping flyaway hair, and repositioning bandanas. That inspired the Bang Wrangler, which g ot Kickstarted in March 2014. Seeing things more clearly with our hair out of their face, Klochkova and Reta noticed the one thing missing from their wardrobes: bona fide women’s water sportswear.
