The Scuba News Canada was launched one year ago by the international and leading online diving magazine, The Scuba News. Its mandate is to serve Canadian divers by focusing on the sport in their country.
Lee Taylor-Watson, managing editor of The Scuba News, asked me to be at the helm of the Canadian version, a position I was honoured to be offered. It is a perfect fit for me, as I was looking to advance more into the informational part of scuba diving. It is a chance to research the environment, equipment and meet people and organizations that relate to scuba.
In my quest for information, I attended DEMA last November in Los Vegas and visited The Toronto Outdoor Show in February of this year. Along the way I have had the pleasure of meeting with divers Paul Darnbrough, Mike McAllister, Rick Stanley, John Olivero, Gim and Christian Gheorghe, Kenn Feigelman, Matthew Lerpiniere, and Susan R. Eaton, who have assisted me greatly with articles and information.
A personal thanks to Kathryn Curzon, managing editor of The Scuba News New Zealand, as well as Chantelle Wyatt, managing editor of The Scuba News UK. I can bounce ideas off them and depend on them for information.
A special thanks to Lee Taylor-Watson, executive managing editor of The Scuba News for allowing me to dive with the Canadian edition.
As we continue to grow and move forward, I invite all Canadians to share The Scuba News Canada and contact us anytime with your diving stories, pictures or adventures that will tickle the fancy of Canadian divers from the east coast to the west coast.
