The Nature Conservancy of Canada is partnering with The Nature Trust of New Brunswick and many other great organizations to plan a large-scale, one-day marine debris cleanup event for multiple coastal and island nature preserves within Charlotte County.
NCC will be organizing a cleanup of our beautiful Pendleton Island Nature Reserve. We will be boating over to the island and collecting the marine debris which accumulates on the shores and threatens the marine wildlife.
There are many cleanup sites for you to choose from. Please see the list below for all cleanup sites and contact information for each site. Please note that some of the cleanup sites are only accessible by boat, and therefore have limits on participants. Sites marked in red are fully booked. Island sites are marked in blue.
A celebration will take place at the Village of Black’s Harbour at 4:00. Prizes will be awarded to those who find the most interesting items! Participants are also going to be challenged to create marine debris art pieces during the celebration.
