Crowthorne based Gold Star Scuba Diving Centre, Divecrew, have won the Federation of Small Businesses “Family Business Award” (South) 2018.
Husband and wife team pick up another award for Divecrew based in Crowthorne, at a prestigious lunch held in Sandown Park Race Course.
Divecrew’s co-owner and PADI Master Instructor Martin Weddell stated, ‘We are over the moon to win this award for the team at Divecrew. It is recognition of an incredibly professional team that makes Divecrew the region’s leading dive centre.’.
Divecrew are the UK’s only Gold Star IDC Centre that teaches not only main stream PADI Divers but also injured British troops from life changing injuries sustained in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as others in the local community with physical and mental challenges.
Since taking over the business in 2012, Divecrew has been transformed into a vibrant and profitable business. Six years of continuous growth for a land locked dive centre. Divecrew beat stiff competition and were praised for its innovation, diversity, business growth, branding and service delivery.
Martin stated, ‘No dive centre can run without gifted professionals. We may steer a course but it is our team that delivers’.
Divecrew have now won an automatic shortlisting to an even tougher event, the Federation of Small Businesses National Finals due to be announced in May and held in London.
