Well it is a milestone that we never envisaged those many moons ago. The Scuba News was born as a side-project, a passion project that a few like-minded divers embraced as an idea, a theory, a bit of fun!
So to now be sitting here 7 years later with multiple international editions, editors in several different countries, readership numbers and newsletter subscribers in the thousands, requests every day for partnership opportunities and a worldwide presence that I never even dreamed of….Well what can I say?
We have so many more exiting new developments in store for The Scuba News in the next 12 months and beyond. We have a plan for what The Scuba News (and related websites) will be over the next few years and I honestly can’t wait.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your help in getting us here. The readers, the contributors, the writers, the editors, the photographers, the developers – This isn’t a “one man” operation but a venture that could not exist without the contributions all of you make to our evolution. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
The current COVID-19 situation has made the world a very different place and the tourism and scuba diving sectors have been hit quite dramatically (as most small businesses have). The world is going through some very strange times but if there is one thing I have learned over the last 7 years, it is that divers are a resilient bunch and I know that all of the dive community will rally to assist the struggling diving businesses get out from under the pressure that worldwide quarantine situations have created. We will unite and we will help each other. Of this I am certain!
