Marissa Eckert is a zealous diving instructor, avid traveler and an opportunist co-owning the Hidden Worlds Diving shop in Fort White, Florida, USA. Selling her belongings and moving to Florida to pursue her love of diving more than ten years ago, she now specializes in cave diving, rebreathers, sidemounts, and photography. It’s no surprise that she has been the subject of several dive magazines, including X-Ray Mag, and was also featured with Aron Arngrimsson’s Dirty Dozen in Micronesia.

Marissa’s focus is first and foremost as a diving instructor. Her favorite courses include CCR Cave and Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs), but she gets just as much enjoyment and satisfaction teaching the beginner classes as well, saying, “teaching a course like introduction to cave diving is very rewarding and amazing. It is so much fun to introduce divers to caves for the first time.” When she’s not teaching, Marissa spends her time traveling the globe to explore new places, hike through the jungle, and pursue stimulating new dives to build skills and foster her growth as a diver.

As a qualified instructor for a variety of rebreathers, including the Sidemount Liberty by Divesoft, X-CCR, SF2, and the KISS Sidekick and Sidewinder, she knows what she’s talking about.
