We have a special guest this week on the popular Facebook Livestream DIVETALKS, orchestrated by Divesoft. David Concannon isn’t your typical diver, allocating his time as both an underwater explorer and legal expert in the field of diving-related exploration. Be sure to tune in this Thursday June 18th at 1 p.m. EDT, as we learn more about one of the most interesting individuals in the diving world!
The majority of David’s life has taken place underwater. He began diving in lakes and mud holes at the age of 14, and eventually made his way to clear-water wreck diving at sites all over the world. A few of his most noteworthy expeditions were recovering artifacts from the R.M.S. Titanic, exploring the H.M.H.S. Britannic, and discovering the Apollo F-1 engines, which were used to launch men to the moon.
And David’s impressive resume doesn’t stop there. He’s also an accomplished attorney who uses his specialized skill set in legal issues involving exploration, diving, and technical diving. Since 1998, David has been involved in litigation related to scuba diving accidents, and he has never lost a diving case. He also serves as legal counsel to a wide range of organizations, filmmakers, equipment manufacturers, private salvors, etc. His law firm, Concannon & Charles, is your go-to for anything diving related!
You’ll have a hard time pinning down one topic of interest with David. Did we mention he’s also climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, sailed the Beagle Channel, and played an integral role in founding the Rebreather Education & Safety Association in 2010. David currently represents most of the world’s rebreather manufacturers in the United States.
