The idea behind The Guardian is he is this human ocean creature that is morphed somehow. He is half man, half seahorse. His tail is wrapped around a bronze ring, so he can stay there and look after the oceans. He is designed to look old already because he’s supposed to have been there for millennia, looking after the oceans in a way that we haven’t been. And the symbolism in here is: we need to get started.

The Guardian of the reef was sunk on April 12th 2014 at Lighthouse Point, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands by Nancy and Jay Easterbrook of Divetech.
