In this episode I speak to Octavia Whates – She’s a massive ocean advocate with infectious enthusiasm about what goes on along her local coastline.
Growing up home educated, she has always been interested in marine life, particularly sharks. Her aim is to share her passion, educate and change peoples perception of sharks. She regularly does beach cleans and loves hunting for empty shark and ray egg cases on the local beaches in Devon!
The 18 year old took part in a dune restoration project in 2015 on the Island of Sylt in Germany and is really hoping to volunteer in shark and marine life conservation in the future.
