Sightseeing cruises are fully narrated providing information on the rich history of the area.
Alas, this cruise no longer exists!
The famous tour boat, Miss Midland, which has operated across the 30,000 Islands in Georgian Bay since 1980, has been sold. Jim and Mike Dubeau, brothers and owners of the Miss Midland decided to retire and sell the boat in 2018. Mike passed away last year. The price was listed at $750,000.
The tour boat was sold just recently to Tobermory Cruise Line Inc. after no local buyers in Midland were interested in purchasing it and keeping it in Midland. Starting in mid-May, the 300-passenger tour boat, renamed Tobermory Legacy, will sail the Fathom Five National Marine Park. Lunch, dinner, and sunset tours will be available around Big Tub Lighthouse, the Russel Islands, Cove Island, and Flowerpot Island.
Tobermory gains from Midland’s defeat. Miss Midland will be replaced by The Island Princess, which was bought by Georgian Shores Catering this past winter and moved from Orillia to Penetanguishene.
