The Marine Conservation Society fights for the future of our ocean through people-powered action – with science on our side. Today, our ocean is in poor health because of human activity and we’re determined to change this by working with communities, businesses and governments.
For more than 30 years, we’ve been the voice of the sea, defending our coastal habitats and species. We work towards a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean, one we can all enjoy. Together we can achieve our vision of seas full of life, where nature flourishes and people thrive.
You can work with us to ensure that we have –
– Clean Seas – reducing pollution on beaches and in the ocean through behaviour change from the public, industry and the governments. Our oceans continue to need our protection, with rising temperatures and changes in chemistry due to our carbon emissions.
– Suitable Fisheries and Aquaculture – with world fish stocks fully or over-exploited from fishing, the need to manage fishing methods, plus pressure from climate change and pollution, we’re moving into dangerous waters when it comes to the fish of the future. We lead the way on changing habits with our Good Fish Guide.
– Ocean Recovery – making sure that our ocean gets the protection it deserves and that protection measures are properly managed. Humans are having an impact and unless we do what we can to make our ocean more resilient, its ability to sustain us will be compromised. We work with local communities, governments, marine managers and scientists to ensure that our amazing ocean is well looked after and able to recover where it needs to.
