“Truly, I never imagined any of this…”
Jett Britnell
It is with great pleasure that I announce my acceptance of the position of Chapter Chair at The Explorers Club-Canadian Chapter for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2022. Thank you to George Kourounis FI’09, the outgoing Chapter Chair, for both endorsing and encouraging me to take on this responsibility. A second thank you goes out to Kathryn Britnell FI’19, who advised me to go ahead and do it. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt over my time on this planet, it’s that… “If the smartest person in the room tells you to do something, do it.”
Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you and a big hug to our friend Susan R. Eaton FI’11, who, while dinner at the Lift Restaurant in downtown Vancouver in September 2015, not only suggested but demanded that I join The Explorers Club. The membership committee of The Explorers Club agreed in 2016, and I was elected a Fellow International. I eventually went on to serve as the Canadian Chapter’s Regional Director, BC/Yukon, for a two-year term (2019/2020).
