In collaboration with Sépaq, all-inclusive dive packages will become available.
VICTORIAVILLE, December 12, 2021 – Michel Labrecque and Julie Ouimet, co-owners of N2Pix, are thrilled to announce that they will be expanding their diving offer with the establishment of a full service scuba diving operation. It will be located in Port-Menier on Anticosti Island, Quebec, in the heart of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Diving will be available as of June 2022.
Operating under the name ANTICOSTI ECOTOURS, all-inclusive diving packages as well as daily diving options will be offered. Diving will be conducted onboard Limitless a Transport Canada certified 7.3-meter RIB equipped with top of the line safety features and crewed by a highly trained and experienced team.
“Within a few minutes, we fell in love with Anticosti and all its potential but we are aware that Nordic destinations are harder to promote. So many people assume that diving in Canada is very demanding, that the water is very cold and that the underwater world is less interesting than in your typical tropical destination. Our goal is to change that mindset. We want to redefine the cold water diving experience. We want to offer divers and non-divers alike the opportunity to go off the beaten path, but without compromising comfort”, says Michel Labrecque.
“You don’t need to visit the tropics to be pampered and offer yourself a luxurious, yet wild, diving holiday. Our collaboration with Sépaq allows us to offer all-inclusive VIP packages with round-trip domestic chartered flights to the island, lodging at the newly built Auberge Port-Menier and fine cuisine. To add to the VIP experience, we will limit to 8 the number of divers at a time. Our focus will be on providing superior services with many extras during our guests’ time on or below the water”, added Mr. Labrecque.
“From a diving perspective, everything remains to be discovered. Practically no one has explored the island’s waters. Our dive season is very short, from the end of June until the end of August. Even once our operations are in full swing, we will accommodate fewer than 100 divers per year. Diving Anticosti will be very exclusive because of this and it will be even more true during our inaugural 2022 season since we will be offering only 24 VIP spots”, says Julie Ouimet.
“When you set foot on Anticosti, it’s like entering a different realm. The island is huge and, for the most part, untouched. You often feel like you are alone in the world and that discovery and exploration await. This feeling is true on land a well as underwater. There are very places on this planet where you can have the impression that you may be one of the firsts to dive where you are diving. It’s a priceless feeling. The reefs are virgin and untouched and we are truly thrilled with the idea that we will be able to share this gem with others’, added Mrs. Ouimet.
