Canadian scuba diver Terry Irvine is pleased, honoured and excited to be presenting at the this years Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival TM in Livonia, Michigan.
Lake Superior is the world’s largest lake in terms of surface area, containing 10% of the world’s surface fresh water. The “Big Lake,” which is shared by Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario Canada, has a shoreline of 2,726 miles (4,387 kilometers) and is an important part of the Great Lakes Waterway, which runs from Duluth, Minnesota, to the Atlantic Ocean. This in-land waterway has played an important role in the movement of goods and resources, as well as in the colonization of this region of North America. Many vessels, ranging from small wooden schooners to the largest lake freighters, have perished in Lake Superior over the years. Their tragic stories served as a reminder of the great in-land sea’s power.
