The Maritime Museum of BC is thrilled to be working with the Victoria Foundation to provide a limited number of FREE programs for schools and organizations that work with underserved or marginalized communities. We recognize that at-risk populations often lack safe access to arts, culture, and learning opportunities. The Museum’s goal is to create a sense of belonging and well-being within a community through facilitating engaging experiences.
Schools and organizations are invited to use our new bursary form to let the Museum know of their needs.
Learning Programs
“Our school programs bring history to life by creating an interactive and fun environment for youth to engage, learn, and explore!” said Stephanie Chong, School and Public Programs Manager at the Maritime Museum of BC. “Based on the Core Competencies outcomes of the BC curriculum, our programs are designed to connect and supplement teachers with learning objectives such as critical thinking, effective communication, and personal responsibility. Our focus is on multi-disciplinary, cross-curricular, and thoughtful learning.”
The Maritime Museum of BC also offers creative workshops that are a fun way for people to engage their creativity and get social while learning about Victoria and BC’s incredible maritime cultures and histories. The public can also take part in self-guided group activities with interactive exhibits, a scavenger hunt, and activity books for all ages.
