Jimmy Lockard was once asked : “where do you dive”? His answer was “anywhere there is water!” Jimmy and his dive buddies, David Gilchrist and Bill Lindberg have found much water to dive in together in the last 50 years. Jimmy was certified in 1975 from Dan’s Dive Shop, and continues to dive today. The three dive buddies (together or individually) have dived in Roatan, Canada’s North, Truk Lagoon and locally around St Catherines, Ontario. Jimmy, David and Bill manage a Facebook Page called “The Dive Team” where they all share their dive adventures and photos.

Jimmy Lockard and his daughter dove into “Erinn’s Pond” in her backyard. The pond was a dug farm pond from many years ago. The Harrison Drain runs alongside one side of the pond, and the estimated terrain elevation above seal level is 93 metres. The ditch has overflowed several times over the years, but the resident fish has remained in the pond. Bass, sunfish, and a couple of perch have all been spotted, as well as a snapping turtle. These fish have come down from the outflow of Queenston’s hydro reservoir.
Dive Report
Dove the pond in my daughter’s back yard. She lives in Niagara on the Lake, close to town. Water temp was around 75 deg., and pond is not deep @17 feet. Length of dive; probably a hour and a half.

When winter arrives and the pond freezes over, it creates a natural ice rink.
