A scuba diver encountered distress at a popular snorkelling spot near Manly and was rescued from the waters at Shelly Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, as reported by Daily Mail Australia.
The woman, described to be in her 30s, was promptly attended to and transported to the hospital on Wednesday morning. NSW Ambulance received a call just before 10:30 am, alerting them to the diver’s urgent situation.
This incident follows a tragic event last month, where a newlywed lost her life in a drowning incident at the same beach during her honeymoon.
A vigilant teenage boy, believed to be from South Korea, noticed the woman floating face down and motionless. Local residents immediately sprang into action, pulling her from the water and attempting to revive her on the beach. Despite the efforts of emergency services who rushed to the scene, she could not be revived.
