Esteemed Private Legal Practitioner at AB & David Africa, a leading law firm, Nana Serwah Godson-Amamoo has tragically passed away in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to reports from Asaaseradio, Godson-Amamoo succumbed shortly after participating in a training session preceding a scuba diving expedition.
Witnesses recounted that she expressed discomfort merely five minutes into her pre-dive preparations. Following the training session, the seasoned attorney collapsed and, regrettably, did not recover.
While the precise time of her death remains undisclosed, Nana Serwah Amaniapong, an alumna of Archbishop Porter Girls, took to Facebook on Friday, March 29, to mourn the loss of Godson-Amamoo. Notably, she served as a partner in AB & David Africa’s Natural Resources and Extractive Industries Practice Group, boasting over 19 years of experience in energy and extractive industries.
Her legal prowess spanned various facets, including advising clients on matters related to natural resources, energy, and mining. Godson-Amamoo specialized in acquisitions, deal structuring, negotiation support, project development, joint ventures, and local content concerns within these sectors.
Furthermore, she led the Government Business and Regulation Practice Group at the firm, offering consultation on public sector organizational reforms and policy initiatives. Her contributions extended to assisting African governments in drafting industry legislation, capacity enhancement, and system improvement endeavors.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nana Serwah Godson-Amamoo which incident occurred on March 28, 2024.
Nana Serwah was the lead partner in the firm’s Natural Resources and Extractive Industries Practice Group and a key member of the Public Sector Advisory and Government Business Practice Group. She had over nineteen (19) years’ practice experience and represented our clients on many deals and related sectors.
Nana also served on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority and on the board of United Way Ghana.
A book of condolence will be open at the firm’s Accra offices from Wednesday April 3, 2024 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm each weekday for friends and sympathizers to pay tribute to Nana.
