Jane Biggs
Jane was born in England and immigrated to Canada as a new bride in 1956, along with her husband Len. She spent four years in the Women’s Royal Naval Service before coming to Canada. When Jane and Len arrived in Canada, they began their family and built their forever home in Cole Harbour. She worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the Shearwater Rec Centre and the Dartmouth YMCA while her five young children were attending school.
Her love of the water fueled her passion for scuba diving. In 46 years, she logged over 2000 dives around the world, with one of her final dives on the Great Barrier Reef at the age of 81.
Jane Biggs passed away at age 84 on February 11, 2019.
