A man in his fifties has passed away while diving at Wolf Rock, a renowned tourist destination in Queensland, located off Rainbow Beach in the Gympie region. The diver, a resident of the Gold Coast, died on Friday during a dive at Wolf Rock, situated approximately two kilometers north-northeast of Double Island Point in Cooloola, around 11:15 am.
Authorities are asking anyone who discovers diving equipment washed up on the shore or in the water near the incident site to report it and refrain from moving it. The death is not being considered suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the coroner.
Wolf Rock is known for its challenging diving and snorkeling conditions, where experienced divers navigate depths, strong currents, and limited visibility.
