Cedar Hill Park is situated east of Wiarton near Big Bay on Scenic Grey Road 1, with a rugged coastline and chilly, deep seas. The view is fantastic, with numerous islands in the harbour visible, such as White Cloud Island and Griffiths Island, and Cape Croker Native Reserve across the bay. Admire the breathtaking landscape from the park’s shoreline, which includes the Niagara Escarpment.
Snorkelers and scuba divers alike love this beach, and larger scuba diving parties occasionally gather here as well. Because of its mild descent, Cedar Hill is appropriate for divers of all skill levels. The water is fairly warm in the summer, reaching a temperature of approximately 15°C over the thermocline along the shore. A 7mm wetsuit will make you comfortable for the dive. Most underwater attractions are located between 35 and 60 feet below the surface. In addition to the underwater vehicles, you might see typical freshwater fish including trout, perch, bass, and lake whitefish. Additionally, reports of seeing catfish have been made. Even in the summer, visibility is good.
While Cedar Hill Park is a wonderful location for a day trip and diving, overnight camping is not permitted, and cars are only allowed in specified parking sites. There are restrooms available, and it is requested if you take your trash with you to keep animals from being drawn to your leftovers.
