Take a personal and historic tour of some of the most significant shipwrecks found in Lake Ontario by the most successful shipwreck hunter in the region, together with members of his team and other shipwreck hunters. Through the pages of his new book, Jim Kennard will take the audience on an almost 50-year voyage of Lake Ontario shipwreck discovery. The British cruiser HMS Ontario, which was lost in 1780, and the sloop Washington, which was lost in 1803, are two of the most important shipwrecks found in the Great Lakes.
Additional noteworthy discoveries include underwater photos and videos of these lost vessels. There will be books for sale at the event, including his groundbreaking book Lake Ontario Shipwrecks: A Journey of Discovery, published by the National Museum of the Great Lakes.
