A tragic incident occurred off the southern coast of Tenerife on Saturday, December 7, 2024, as a 42-year-old man lost his life while scuba diving. Emergency services were alerted around 12:32 PM when the diver was pulled from the water near Arona in a state of cardiac arrest.
Medical teams from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) responded quickly, employing both basic and advanced resuscitation techniques. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to revive the individual, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities, including the Local Police, have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the incident. The man’s identity remains undisclosed as officials work to notify his family.
