We are receiving multiple reports that a Red Sea Liveaboard vessel carrying 28 passengers and crew has been rescued in strong winds and high waves close to Marsa Alam in Egypt, after experiencing some damage and taking on water.
From the information we have so far, the vessel began taking on water and issued a distress signal. Local dive centers rallied to the request and safely transported all passengers to Marsa Alam and the stricken vessel underwent makeshift repairs to avoid sinking.
At this stage we don’t have exact details on the situation or the name of the boat and will update when more details can be confirmed.
