A tragic diving accident has claimed the life of an off-duty police officer, despite first aid efforts at the scene after emergency services were alerted to a diver in difficulty.
The incident occurred at Trigg Beach in Western Australia on Tuesday morning around 10:30 a.m. Emergency services, including Water Police, Police Air Wing, Marine Rescue, City of Stirling Surf Lifesaving, and St John WA, responded to reports of a diver in distress.
Despite the rapid response and efforts to provide immediate care, the officer could not be revived and was later pronounced dead.
