A 59-year-old German man passed away after losing consciousness during a scuba diving trip in the Florida Keys, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred Sunday morning at the Christ of the Abyss dive site near Key Largo.
According to local reports, Vitaliy Demchuk was diving with the Amoray Dive Resort when he became unresponsive. The resort’s crew immediately performed CPR, and paramedics transported him to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. He was pronounced dead at 11:10 a.m., the sheriff’s office reported. While an autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death, authorities do not suspect foul play.
