Originally designed as a fishing float to be towed behind a kayak or canoe, the Dryak is a uniquely designed dive float that is rapidly gaining popularity with shore-based divers and snorkelers.
The Dryak is constructed from a single piece of ABS plastic with dimensions of 45”x21”x10” and a weight of only 12 lbs. Hulls feature carry handles, a drain plug and a variety of deck fixtures for attaching reels, anchors and grab-lines. An attachable pole for the displaying of a dive flag is also available. Dryak dive floats are available in yellow, orange, blue, olive, tan and grey.
Light weight materials make the Dryak highly portable. A fully dressed- out buddy team can carry it between them on the way to the shore without a struggle, and its streamlined shape will enable a single diver to drag it behind as it cuts through the beach sand. In the water, Dryak is quite seaworthy, and is effortless to tow. At the surface, it provides a stable platform for top-side activities, and provides ample room for four divers to hang on for support.
The interior compartment is 40 cubic inches, providing plenty of room for extra weights, reels, lift-bags and other miscellaneous equipment. The weight capacity is 60 lbs. The interior is accessed through an 12”x20” opening on top, and sealed with a water –tight lid made from injection molded plastic. Divers can easily reach inside by rolling the Dryak toward them. A thermal lining insert is also available from the manufacturer, turning the Dryak into a miniature floating cooler.
Dryak@ is manufactured by Dryak Inc. of Bradenton Florida, and retails for $ 179.00 USD.
