I grew up 1,000 miles away from the nearest ocean, but for as long as I can remember, I have always felt a special connection to the sea. It was not until I began studying journalism at the University of Miami when I decided to combine my love for the ocean with my passion for writing and spreading knowledge. One Bachelor’s degree in journalism, one scuba instructor certification, hundreds of dives, and hours of underwater photography training later… and my dream career as an ocean journalist became a reality. Currently based in the Bay Islands of Honduras, if I am not writing or photographing above the water, you can find me about 20 meters under it. The ocean is the Earth’s heart. It is where life began and it continues to keep us alive. My goal is simple. Listen to the ocean and unbiasedly share its story with the world. Because what is happening to the ocean under our care needs to be known and understood. The ocean’s story is important. Perhaps one of the most important stories of all time, because you see without it, life would simply not exist.
