We recently got back from the Dema show and had a great time. We were happy to introduce the latest additions to the Aquatica line up. Our A1DX MKII housing for the Canon 1DX MKII got a lot of interest from many people. It is undeniable that with a maximum of 14fps standard/16fps Live View burst rate and up to 170 RAW images per blast when using a Cfast card, as well as improved AF performance and 4K video capture, this camera is destined to be the camera of choice for serious underwater photographers.

Getting back in the water. Sometimes, life, the universe, and everything conspire to keep you out of the water. It happens. The trick is making sure you get back in the water safely. Some may have noticed that I’ve been pretty light on posts here for the last year or so; that’s because I’m one of those divers right now. So how am I going to get back in the water? I’ve got a 3 Step Plan to get myself back in the game!

On the 17th of October 2016, my travels from South Africa to South-East Asia began. It was my first time travelling abroad and I can still remember the feeling of frantic butterflies in my stomach when the plane left the ground.

Seahorses seem to be a big favourite for divers and non-divers alike, we actually know surprisingly little about them. Besides the fact that their males get pregnant, most divers don’t know that much about them. So here a few fun things you never knew about seahorses and will make you appreciate them even more next time you encounter them during your dives.
